Safety Notes
There have been some range rules violated that are beyond comprehension. A neighbor called in that someone was shooting in the dark, an hour and a half before sunrise. Moreover, they were intimidating a member that was checking up on them during daylight time, running the member away from the range A they had set up to shoot metal targets at dangerous angles.
We have such a great group of members, we all know. Yes, a wonderful group of folks, but a few that, like i said, goes beyond comprehension. This forces us to spend money and frustration to try and make the place safer for the remainder of us. Now we are having to expand cameras and monitoring equipment. Many of us are now pushing for electronic gate access and sign in gear.
Mercy.
Many may take note that our rulebook is quite thick and there’s quite a few rules; general rules and specific rules for different ranges. Our book is considerably thicker than most other ranges. This is because we are all managers of our range; each member is also a range officer as we watch out for ourselves, and we watch out for each other. So, the next time you handle the key to Parker County Sportsman Club, please note that you are a manager, a member and a user of our facility and take care of it. Please follow the rules and take care of each other.
Chuck Garrett, Editor.

Meeting Notes by Daniel Barnes Club Secretary

Time to try a little different format this month. Here are some stories from your on-the-spot reporter with news you can use, in no particular priority:
— Kristi Ramon, BSN, RN, will offer free CPR and Stop-the-Bleed classes to members who want training on handling medical issues that may occur at the range or anywhere. She has a member willing to donate tourniquets, and she will add blood-stop and other first aid supplies to create kits and place one at each of our ranges. Members interested in attending a class should contact the Club at (817) 271-0467 to sign up.
— Mike Andren will present a proposal to the Board next month to provide LTC certification classes to members who want their carry license for concealed handgun.
— June is the month when the Board approves membership fees for the upcoming year. The vote was to increase the Spouse Badge fee from $10 to $25 for 2023 since Orientation is required for this badge.
— Preparations continue for the replacement of Range A benches, with the Board authorizing expenditure of not-to-exceed $7,500 for materials and labor. — The 4-H Bustin’ Pumpkins shotgun shoot is scheduled for October 15.
— A new Archery range is scheduled to open in July at the north end of the Club. Components (including self-healing targets and bow racks) have been procured or fabricated, lanes have been cut, and range rules have been approved. Dust off those bows and quivers, y’all, and get ready for some practice for Bow season.
— Ryan presented a demo of the Online-only new member plan that is in development for roll-out starting October 1. This will simplify the process for joining the Club and reduce the burden for the Orientation volunteers.
— JT reported the locks for Sporting Clays have now all been rekeyed to match the other shotgun keys, so now you need only one for all things shotgun !
Stay Safe, Daniel.

Read Here from our own George Admire about the June Swap Meet --- Posted in our PCSC Facebook Group
Good evening. Erin and I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day weekend. I thank all the vendors and visitors who made this weekend's swap meet successful. There was a good turnout of floor traffic. Member Frank Strand is the new owner of a Rossi .22 semi-automatic rifle. (supplied by James Nance, Onward Arms)
I want to thank all of the people that helped with the event. It would not be possible without their support, from set up to break down, door support, signage, and name cards for the vendors. Thank You, it could not be done without you. Enjoy the summer; we will see everyone in September.
Thanks,
George Admire

Pistol Match Information - Jim Groce

July 09, 2022 pistol match info.
As we discussed after the June pistol match, we'll be doing a small version of the NRA precision pistol match this time. We'll be using the standard targets called out for this style match, but we'll only do the 25 yard portion.
The match will be conducted on Range A from the bench starting at 8:00 a.m. This will allow us to have multiple shooters simultaneously, like the rifle matches do, making for a quicker match. And, we'll be shooting in the shade. Two very important things when playing outdoors in Texas in the summer.
These are the rules for this type of match:
