July 2020
Greetings!

Here we are in the hottest of the year. August just puts activities on hold due to the heat. We do have two COOL events in August that being Fort Worth Gun show. Indoors and air conditioned lots of guns to drool...err ... check out !

In the Know:

PCSC will have a booth at the Fort Worth gun show on August 1 st and 2 nd and August 22 nd and 23 rd So come out and say hello. If you want to participate and help man the booth, let me know. Its fun as you can imagine !

If you have not been for a PCSC match, you are missing the fun. Jon Kitts has some fun surprises for future matches, So come join us the second Saturday of the month. They start early but still, bring plenty of water as August is hottern usual..

This from Richard Neverdousky.... At the Swap Meet Saturday 7/25th we sold 28 tables and 58 came thru the door. Face masks were available for those who wanted one. Most vendors had some activity. While I would have liked to have seen more attendees overall I think the event was successful considering the circumstances.

Yes, sounds like plenty successful considering !!

Safety First

Remember nothing is as important than the members downrange. Nothing.

Thank You,

July Board Meeting Highlights from our own Daniel Barnes !

To keep you up with . . .

Wondering what’s going on at PCSC,

here is some news from the Board. A new online renewal process is being developed by Ryan and Ruben. Progress is steady, with a possible roll out scheduled in time for the September membership renewal season start. Goal is to have members renew without the normal mailing.

Range A ballistic rubber testing results showed all thicknesses failed to stop projectiles.Cumberland (Manufacturer) states steel is needed behind when used as baffles

On the Safety Committee report, Phillip proposed changing to a 2-flag system, with Yellow flag being Cold range and Red flag being Hot range. Implementation will be by posting range signs, Newsletter coverage, and email blast using ConstantContact. This is a big change, but necessary due to the constant rule violations reported

Finally, the Board came up with some nice incentives for new members who are continuing to join for 2020. New members joining in August or September get a $25 rebate that can be applied to 2021; in October get 3 months plus 2021; or in November get 2 months free. Tell your non-member friends about these great deals.

Be Safe!

Daniel
