Posture has been a proven human metric which affects the overall health and well-being of a patient.

Chiropractors have correlated that the better the physical posture, the less stress is placed on the nervous system and the overall better health. This concept has been published within and outside of the chiropractic profession as documented in the following journal articles

Posture is not the only valuable human metric for the evaluation of a client's short-term and long-term health. There are many, many valuable health measurements!  I advocate that the integration of systems and information is always best. The more you see, the more you can help. The combination of valuable treatments (such as soft tissue correction, nutrition, Low-Level Laser Therapy to name a few) will make any posture correction work better. But I also identify and apply priorities that help me be a better clinician and provide the best results to my patients in the shortest amount of time.
Measuring grip strength is published by PubMed research as one of the most valuable indicators of your patient’s health status throughout their lifespan. Their low grip strength score will reveal overall physical health and well-being as well as susceptibility to the most common chronic degenerative diseases.

A low grip strength score can be an indicator of:

  • cardiovascular disease
  • pulmonary disease
  • osteoporosis
  • brain degeneration

to name a few. Grip strength is also an accurate indicator for predicting the loss of one’s independence of being able to live and care for oneself.
I do not use the above articles to motivate patients with fear. But the scientific facts prompt me to provide solutions for all my patients and to score them decades before it is too late.

Before testing them, I merely tell them what their grip strength score should be. Grip strength, as an examination, takes seconds and can be used to predict the patient’s health destiny. And if your patients have low grip strength providing the proper training program (along with your traditional treatment program) will make a measurable improvement.

The Jamar Hand Dynamometer may be the medical standard for testing grip strength but it provides absolutely no solution for improving grip strength. Strength is a window into the nervous system, not just muscle strength! Read below to learn about the Gold Standard grip strength training for patients and world competitions.
Improving a client's grip strength

  • increases mitochondria of the tissues and nerves
  • enhances the neuroplasticity and neural drive
  •  improves the patient’s health equity
  • turns back the biological clock.

Combining grip training and Low-Level Laser Therapy is an excellent unattended laser application to apply in your clinic, with the great work you already do . "Lasers work point and shoot but lasers work better through activation."
It is also a scientific fact that grip strength is last to leave the body compared to all other muscular training exams and measures. This is true from a medical perspective and proven by strength competitions around the world for hundreds of years. Competitive grip competitions are at an all-time high, and the data today shows more validity than ever. Men and women athletes well past their physical prime, in any athletic measure, can compete at the highest level in grip competitions decades older than those in their prime.
Sixty-year-old men and women display amazing grip strength just below a 25 - 30-year-old in the prime of their elite trained, strength life. This is another reason why low grip strength is such an accurate predictor of inability to maintain the activity of daily living and progresses to susceptibility to the most common degenerative diseases. When grip strength is low, the vitality of the body is low! Put this into perspective when you or your patients have a low grip measurement at age 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60 years old and up.

At the very least, grip strength is an accurate measurement of the neurological health of the C5 - T1; the Brachial Plexus and the neuro-synaptic array of the upper motor tracts. A low grip measures the equity you have in the health of your nervous system; and it needs improvement! Grip testing and training makes those practitioners who perform this in their clinics (especially with Low Level Laser Therapy and adjustments) the best functional neurologists in the world.
The educational value of testing and improving the person’s Grip Strength is taught in detail with the Fitness Integration Technique (F.I.T.)® Body Map System.
