"Generosity is not something the Lord wants FROM you,
it's something He wants FOR you."
2015-2016 End of Year Report
There used to be an old saying that floated through church circles, "If every church member were just like me, what kind of church would my church be?"  The point was clear to those who were not carrying their fair share in serving and working in the church, but the premise is somewhat flawed. In reality, we aren't supposed to be exactly like one another. In 1 Corinthians 12, we are told that the Body of Christ, the Church, has one body, but many parts. These multiple parts serve many functions within the church and foster variety and vibrancy. Personally, if every church member were just alike, we wouldn't be very effective. One of our great passions here at Fellowship is to help believers identify their spiritual gifts, then release them to serve and do ministry in the name of Christ.
This core value of serving is called the "priesthood of the believer" (every member ministry). It is our sincere hope that you have found your calling here at Fellowship and are utilizing that calling to the fullest. My wife, Denise, played piano here at Fellowship almost every week for over 20 years. She began playing when she was 4 years old and it was a big part of her life. Then arthritis began to creep into her hands. Playing for multiple services and long rehearsals became a very painful experience and she had to step away from playing as often and using the gift God had given her. I worried that she might not feel as fulfilled, not having a regular place to serve in music as she had in the past.
And then, she began serving in the nursery, caring for little ones while their parents worshiped. I've been amazed to see that she is just as fulfilled in caring for babies as she was playing the piano. Sometimes our gifts are on the platform, but more often, they are expressed behind the scenes. God views them equally when we serve with all our hearts. "Whatever we do, whether in word or deed, we are to do it all in the name of Jesus..."  Colossians 3:17.
Thank you to those of you who give of your time so freely, serving God through Fellowship Bible Church. Thousands of lives have been changed through the ministry of this church. And if our current growth is any indication of the future, thousands of lives have the possibility of being changed in the future. The key to our effectiveness will be our response to the prompting of the Holy Spirit to be generous with our time, talent, and treasure.

- Mickey Rapier,
Fellowship Directional Leader
At the heart of Fellowship's philosophy of ministry is the conviction that God has called every believer into ministry. We desire therefore for all of Fellowship's people to mature in their relationship with Christ, be trained for ministry, and then be released into a ministry that fits their God-given gifts and passions.
Find "service opportunities" on Fellowship's website:
If you're looking for a place to serve, check out our website's "Serve" page to explore many opportunities for you to get engaged in ministry at Fellowship and in the local communities.
There are many members already engaged in ministry. Here are several examples:
  • Community groups sacrificing their time to help our Buildings & Grounds team at the Rogers campus:
  • Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is more than just filling a shoebox with random items so a kid in another country can have a gift; it's a tool used to introduce that child to the free gift of the Gospel. And, we get to have a part in that right here in Northwest Arkansas. A group of Fellowship folks took a road trip to the OCC Dallas distribution center and helped prepare those shoeboxes to send to the world: watch video
  • Learn why this couple serves each weekend in K2 Town (honesty and curiosity can go a long way!): watch video
The Leadership Lab
Fellowship's mission is to "produce and release spiritual leaders who know and express the authentic Christ to Northwest Arkansas." Our expectations for our members is to be engaged in a "best fit" ministry that will glorify God and fulfill your life purpose.
If you are not certain how God has gifted you to serve Him, please contact us to participate in the Leadership Lab. The Lab was developed by Chip Jackson and Gary Harrell to help people uncover their gifts and connect to a ministry according to their God-given gifts and talents. A Leadership Lab class will be offered as part of the winter trimester through BiLD or you may explore the Leadership Lab the curriculum through their website. For more info on the Lab, please contact us at the BiLD Training Center.
