The year, like the seasons, have different rhythms. I used to think that the summer was a time to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, sit by the pool, and relax. Boy: was I wrong!
It's been another busy week - and I have been loving all of it! A great end to the holiday weekend, a wonderful birthday, and now cheering on Avis and her teammates at the annual Greensboro City Swim Association Meet - it's like the Greensboro Olympics! If you need me today or tomorrow, I'll be at the Greensboro Aquatic Center, losing my voice while cheering on everyone. Thank you to all who took the time to wish me a Happy Birthday in one way or another - your kindness continues to mean so much; and to know that I am blessed and lucky to serve as your pastor is one of the best gifts I continue to cherish!
It's been enjoyable, as well, to speak with a number of you about last Sunday's worship and the start of the "Talk to the Hand" sermon series. While none of you have ventured to guess the connections between the fingers and respective gospel passages, I do look forward to continuing to provide connections this week in worship as we examine the ring finger. Please make sure to bring your loose change for the monthly Pennies for Hunger offering of Salem Presbytery as well!
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday - whether in person or online!
With gratitude,
Pastor Kathryn

As many of you know, the 2022 general operating budget did not include staff increases. After consideration of current economic conditions and in response to inquiries from members wishing to recognize our hard-working staff, earlier this week the Session approved the creation of a new designated fund for the sole purpose of funding salary bonuses to our staff.
|
|
This fund, external to the 2022 operating budget, is being funded by these special gifts. Several gifts to this fund are already in hand; if you would also like to contribute to this gift, which will be awarded at the end of this month, you are asked to do so by July 17. Thank you, in advance, for your prayerful consideration toward this gift to our staff.

Wondering what to do with all of those grocery shopping bags? The Missions committee will be collecting “gently used” plastic grocery bags for Backpack Beginnings. Please bring any you don’t use to church with you, leaving them on the Missions table in the Dogwood Lobby closest to the double doors leading towards the classrooms.
