Even these many days later, my heart is as full as the weekend that was. THANK YOU to all who participated in at least one of the festivities - the Programs Committee did a wonderful job putting together the details of the church picnic on Saturday - down to the sidewalk chalk and cornhole boards! The weather couldn't have been better - a "Chamber of Commerce Weather Day", as my brother and his family would say! I pray that all who attended enjoyed each other and the tasty food as well.

Sunday was also a full day - full of the Holy Spirit, indeed! A Pentecost to remember, that's for sure. Rev. Dr. Ledlum-Bates provided an inspirational word about the Holy Spirit's work in the life of our congregation and community. And then, after worship, Wynston and his family were tremendously generous in their offerings for the brunch. Again - THANK YOU to all who chipped in their efforts to make the morning a success, as well as those who attended. And then your contributions for the barrels! Wynston dropped off TWO more barrels yesterday due to your generosity. Thank you.
If you're interested in helping to pack the barrels, members of the Mission Committee are meeting in the Fellowship Hall at 10am tomorrow - all are welcome, and many hands make light work!

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday - a day that we recognize the "three-in-one" of the Trinity. I will be taking a few days away with some friends - one who has generously offered her lake house for us to enjoy fellowship together. But have no fear! Rev. John Johnson, recently retired from active ministry in Salem Presbytery, will be filling in for me. John and I share a passion for ministry and Christian education - he and I serve the Association of Partners in Christian Education (APCE) together, including being a part of an exclusive "club" of both serving the organization as its president at some point.
I look forward to hearing from y'all about the morning's events when I return on Monday. I also would love to hear from John that he was warmly welcomed and had no problems knowing who each of you were because you all wore your new nametags!
I continue to give thanks to God for all that God has done in my life through this congregation and the Holy Spirit's work in this place!
With gratitude,
Pastor Kathryn
