We marked the start of Lent earlier this week with our Ash Wednesday worship service. Those gathered, both in-person and online, were challenged to think about "replying" to God or "responding" to God in Lent. What if we add something to our lives during this season or "relent" from seeing ourselves as anything less than how God sees us - as wonderful, loving, and amazing children of God with so much to contribute to this community?
This Sunday we will continue the "re:Lent" Lenten sermon series and think about the word "re:sist" - as Jesus makes his way into the desert to come fact-to-face with the Devil, how does Jesus resist temptation? How can we do so in our own lives? We will celebrate the sacrament during worship. Following worship, we will have an opportunity to examine our faith in Lent during the Education hour; I invite you to consider and encourage you to add bible study to your Lenten journey. (If you've been joining us for worship virtually and would like to join us in the same way for our Education Hour, please send me a note and let me know - we will set up the way to do that). And if you're heading to the store, be sure to pick up some extra items to drop off at the Food Drive for Greensboro Urban Ministries this month.
There are a number of wonderful things coming up in the life of our church in the next few weeks - read on, and make sure to add them to your calendars to join in the fun!
Until Sunday,
Pastor Kathryn

Wondering what to do with all of those grocery shopping bags? The Missions committee will be collecting “gently used” plastic grocery bags for Backpack Beginnings. Please bring any you don’t use to church with you, leaving them on the Missions table in the Dogwood Lobby closest to the double doors leading towards the classrooms.
