“Sabbatical Spotlight” provides short updates and answers to common questions about Pastor Kathryn’s upcoming sabbatical and what it means for Fellowship Presbyterian Church.
-
What is a “sabbatical”? A sabbatical is a season of intentional rest, renewal, and study granted after years of ministry, strengthening both pastor and congregation for the future.
-
How long is the sabbatical? The sabbatical will last twelve weeks, beginning on Monday, May 4, and concluding on Sunday, August 2, after which she will return to continue her ministry with this Fellowship family.
-
What will Pastor Kathryn do? She will step away from daily responsibilities to rest, reflect, learn, and explore practices that deepen her faith and leadership upon her return.
-
What will the Fellowship Family do? Fellowship will continue to worship, serve, and love our neighbors together, guided by shared leadership and guest preachers, trusting that God is at work in every season.
-
Who will lead worship services while Pastor Kathryn is away? Working together, the Worship and Music Ministry Team will work with Blake to provide wonderful, faith-enriching worship each Sunday. Pastors and spiritual leaders from the community will deliver sermons and provide other worship leadership, much as they do when Pastor Kathryn is away; however, in this case, it will be each Sunday between May 4 and August 2.
“Sabbatical Spotlight” will continue in the bulletin & newsletter as space allows, providing insight into the sabbatical as it approaches.
