"Maycember" has come to a close - and for that, I give thanks. If you're unsure of what I mean, then you probably don't have children in high school or younger. It's that time of year, as the school year comes to a close, when it seems as though the family calendar doesn't ease up. Instead, the events seem to multiply in the night, clogging up the date boxes even more!
But with "Maycember" comes all of the wonderful pictures on social media and text message threads with celebrations: graduations, pictures comparing children from first day of school to last bring me such joy - it's amazing to see how much they change from September to June! The changes don't appear as noticeable when you see them day-to-day!
This past Sunday, we recognized our graduates. This Sunday, as we celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, and mark the ways the Holy Spirit works through each of us, we will collect the Pentecost Offering, one of the annual offerings of the denomination. This offering provides support to the youth and young adults of our community and the ministries of our denomination focusing on the same. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this offering.
