Fellowship Family,
Happy Wednesday! On this “Thanksgiving eve” I pray that each of you are well, and that your holiday preparations are coming along nicely. As I reflect upon my blessings in this holiday season, I wanted to be sure to make each of you aware of how grateful I am to serve Fellowship Presbyterian Church and to worship and serve alongside you each week.
Recently, I had a friend on my mind. We hadn’t seen each other or spoken in months, but on this day, despite all of my obligations that day, I had my friend at the forefront of my mind. Finally, I sent a quick text message to say hello and let her know I hoped she was doing well. Immediately, my phone rang. “How did you know?!” I heard my friend’s voice say on the other line. She had experienced a family emergency earlier that day and in her words, “desperately needed to hear a word of encouragement and prayer.”
Fellowship family, we are called by God to do the work of love in the world. The Holy Spirit accomplishes God’s work of love and peace through our words and our thoughts and our deeds. I pray in this season of gratitude that you’ll take time to reach out to those people whom God has laid on your heart and on your mind. Let them know you’re thinking of them and praying for them.
I hope to see each of you in worship this Sunday, December 1st as we begin the Advent season, a time of waiting and joyful anticipation for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As a reminder, as Pastor Kathryn enjoys some vacation time, please reach out to me or contact the church office with any pastoral care needs or concerns.
Happy Thanksgiving!
In Christ's service,
Blake
