I started last week's newsletter being baffled by it being almost October. Just because we officially crossed the finish line of September and are now officially in the month doesn't mean I'm any less baffled.
As I was preparing for worship and this newsletter earlier this week, it dawned on me how deep we truly are into this year. And while you may be saying to yourself, "Kathryn, you just pointed out that it's October...of course, we are deeply into the year," but it truly hit me as I was preparing the worship bulletin cover for Sunday.
In years past, when creating the Sunday worship bulletin cover, I have saved the image as its own file. It only took me five years, but I finally realized how much easier it would be to access a previous bulletin cover if it were in one file with a different date for each week. Earlier this week, as I was downloading the image, the program informed me I was downloading "Page 41". How do we have only 12 weeks (or so) until 2025 comes to a close!
With that bit of news, I began reflecting on all that has been accomplished over the previous 40 weeks, and let me tell you: Fellowship Presbyterian Church is keeping itself busy!
The remaining weeks of the year do not slow down, so while I encourage each of us to pace ourselves - yes, including myself - I do ask and encourage you to add the upcoming events below to your respective calendars and do your best to make as many of them as you can - while I am sure you will not be able to make all of them, providing feedback to the leadership of the various ministry teams can help allow us to know if we are hitting (or missing) the mark on what we should provide as activities and events as a Fellowship family.
To that end, as our congregation continues to grow and evolve, I'm thrilled to share a new weekly newsletter that launched this week. With Sunday School for the youngest of our Fellowship Family starting this Sunday, the "Faith and Family" newsletter will hit inboxes in the first part of the week to help those receiving it reinforce themes from last Sunday's lesson. With it, I had to find a bit of whimsy, so with a little help from AI, the logo (and header) for the newsletter looks like this:
