Weekly News & Updates

January 3, 2025

The picture reminds us that we are still in the 12 Days of Christmas - today is Ten Lords a Leaping, to be exact. It is this Sunday that the Christmas season concludes, turning our eyes toward Epiphany. However, we will celebrate the Three Kings and their journey to find the Christ Child under the Star. We will receive Star Words as a means of being guided throughout the year. I invite you to reflect on how the word you received in 2024 played out in your life - what might your 2025 word be?

Tomorrow morning, Fellowship's Ruling Elders from the classes of 2024 through 2027 will gather with Ministry Team Leaders and Members to help pray together, set goals, and focus together on how God is calling us into the upcoming year. I encourage you to pray for them and see where, perhaps, God is calling you to serve both inside and outside of the Church's walls in 2025 - if you're uncertain, let's grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat and talk about it!

Finally, I'm sure you noticed things look a little different "around here": a new year sometimes calls for a new look! I hope you like it. If you notice something missing or amiss, please let me know!

With gratitude, joy, and in anticipation for a wonderful 2025,

Kathryn

Mission Ministry Team Highlights

Seeking Socks

The Mission Ministry Team is planning another distribution to our homeless neighbors in February, and we are in dire need of new or gently used men's socks. That would be greatly appreciated along with any other contributions you can provide. Please put them in the Mission Room during the month of January. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Support Backpack Beginnings

Wondering what to do with all of those grocery shopping bags? The Missions Ministry Team collects “gently used” plastic grocery bags for Backpack Beginnings. Please bring any you don’t use to church with you, leaving them in the marked box in the Dogwood Lobby closest to the double doors leading towards the classrooms.
