Become,
"Nature's Best Hope!"

Join Dr. Doug Tallamy, Professor of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Delaware and author of several best-selling books, as he discusses, "Nature's Best Hope." Learn about the connection between human well-being and healthy, local ecosystems. Plus, he'll show attendees how to create an enriching conservation corridor in your backyard, aka your very own "Homegrown National Park!"

The population decline of beneficial plants and wildlife is a bleak reality check about our current, ineffective landscape designs that have been unsustainable for the species that sustain us. This free event is brought to you in partnership with the following sponsors: Bartlett Tree Experts, Edge of the Woods Native Plants, Fernrock Landscapes, Foliage Farm, Herbein’s Garden Center, Millcreek Landscape Design, and Parkland Nurseries.

Felted Birdhouse Workshop at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary

Led by Mallory Zondag, this workshop teaches the ancient and awesome art of wet-felt weaving to create a durable bird house. Mallory is a mixed media artist and art educator, and her career has included a residency at the Allentown Art Museum, commission for ArtsQuest's Accessible Arts program, and various other projects in the Northeast.

Using wool, water, and olive oil soap, attendees will sculpt their creations during the 4-hour workshop. Felted wool is an insulating, dirt resistant, water repellent, breathable, and 100% biodegradable fabric.

This is an outside workshop available to adults only.

When & Where: Sun., May 7. from 9 AM - 1 PM at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary. For full workshop details, visit the event page online.
