New 5-Series Fend Data Diodes
Fend’s new 5-Series Data Diodes are here and in stock! Three new models, the XE5 (Ethernet out), SE5 (Ethernet + serial out), and CE5 (Ethernet + cellular out) join our existing family of one-way communication diodes, combining affordable cybersecurity with higher speeds, all while remaining up to 90% less expensive than legacy data diodes.
Key 5-Series features:
-
Data transfer speeds of up to 4.0 Mbps
- Out of the box support for FTP/FTPS, TCP/IP, Modbus Serial, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet MSTP, and BACnet IP
- A redesigned compact form factor (5.1” x 5.8” x 1.6”) with power and ports on the front of the device for ease of use when rack or DIN-rail mounting
Fend’s hardware is made in the USA and built to keep attackers out of critical infrastructure. Buy now at www.fend.tech/products or reply to this email for more information.

CISA Warns of Threats Targeting ICS/SCADA Devices
The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued an alert this week about advanced persistent threat (APT) actors exhibiting “the capability to gain full system access to multiple industrial control system (ICS)/supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) devices,” including some of the most widely used systems in the world. “By compromising and maintaining full system access to ICS/SCADA devices, APT actors could elevate privileges, move laterally within an OT environment, and disrupt critical devices or functions.” Thankfully, there are mitigations available, including the recommendation to “isolate ICS/SCADA systems and networks from corporate and internet networks.” With Fend, you can physical isolate these impacted systems while getting the operational visibility you need. Learn more about this most recent threat and recommended actions at https://www.cisa.gov/uscert/ncas/alerts/aa22-103a.
