Feng Shui Basics: the Wood Element
first in a series of five
"The energy of Wood is active and energetic; it is all about growth. Wood - which is the element of trees and vegetation - displays the qualities of expansion and upward movement and the health and vitality of the land. When vegetation thrives, we associate it with good land. When we experience a place for the first time, we have a quick intuitive knowing about it that is a combination of the input from all of our senses. A place that is alive gives us a feeling of health and well-being." ~~Maureen K. Calamia, Creating Luminous Spaces

This is especially true in our homes. Vitality and health is important for everyone and using the wood element in balance can help.

Read on to learn how to use the Feng Shui Wood element in your spaces. We talked about plants in last month's newsletter and much of that advice and knowledge works here too for the Wood element. But there are also so many more ways to bring Wood into your home, office or any other space. Scroll on for more from our experts.

Decorating with the Feng Shui Wood Element

It’s no secret that the energy of our homes should nourish and support us, it’s a facet of the Wellness Design trend. In a recent article, Kitchen and Bath Business (KBB Online) found out that not only is Feng Shui Decor a top trending category, but that adding Wood Element has become the most popular way to add harmony to the home. The Wood Element is healing and revitalizing, representing growth, expansion and vitality.

"Wood is the only element that creates itself. It asks us to be courageous and compassionate."
