Making Spring Strips
For many strip tillers, last fall was just too wet to get fertilizer placed and strip tillage work done. The Yetter 2984 Strip freshener can serve several purposes. It can Freshen strips made in the fall to smooth, and air them out pre plant. They are also capable of creating fresh strips on virgin ground (this is how 99% of my customers use them). The row cleaners move residue out of the way and the sharktooth blades loosen the soil while the rolling basket creates a smooth finish. Check out the video above to see them in action!
Cassie's Country Cupboard Weekly Recipe:

Maple & Butternut Squash Ravioli

The Menchhofer maple syrup crew has been hard at work for a few weeks now. We use maple syrup on far more than just pancakes! Enjoy this dish without the bacon if you need a meatless meal during Lent.

Maple & Butternut Squash Ravioli

Ingredients:

1 pkg fresh or frozen butternut squash ravioli
2 c. cream or half and half
¼ c. pure maple syrup
4 T. butter
1 large shallot or ¼ of a small onion, finely diced
4 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon
Salt, pepper, and thyme to taste
Toasted walnuts, opt.

Directions:

Boil water and add ravioli according to package directions. While ravioli boils, melt butter in large pan over medium heat. Add the diced shallot or onion and cook until translucent. Add cream and allow to simmer for 1 minute. Add maple syrup, salt and pepper to taste. Drain ravioli and add to cream sauce in pan, stirring gently to coat. Sprinkle bacon, walnuts, and thyme over top of ravioli.
