The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival (LAWTF) marks 24 years of producing well over 500 extraordinary multicultural and multidisciplinary solo performers from around the globe.

"Bananas! A Day in the Life of Josephine Baker"
Sloan Robinson
received her theatre training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts with continued dance training at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, NYC. She is an accomplished award winning actor, dancer, choreographer, playwright and producer with numerous television, film and stage credits.
Robinson is the recipient of the 2001 NAACP Theatre Award for Best Female Performer for her unforgettable portrayal of Dorothy Dandridge in the one woman tour-de-force "Yesterday Came Too Soon...The Dorothy Dandridge Story" by Jamal Williams at LATC, and co-produced by her company Do It Yourself Productions.
Robinson received the award again in 2004 for her autobiographical play, "It's a Good Thing I Knew How to Dance" at Stage 52, also co-produced by DIYP. She received the 2009 Award Nomination for her amazing portrayal of Josephine Baker in her play "BANANAS! A Day in the Life of Josephine Baker" at Vintage Hollywood, co-produced by Leroy Richardson, III, who won the Best Costumes Award for the show.
In 2010 she received the NAACP Award Nomination for her mesmerizing performance in the role of Jessalyn in "Tree" by Julie Herbert produced by Ensemble Studio Theatre at the Ford Theatre.
Robinson's play "A Woman in the Wild Wild West" set in the 1800's had a successful staged reading at Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center in the 2016 Vision Theatre Play Reading Festival and will be produced later this year.
