Favourite Father's Day ideas
Looking for options to help dear-old dad celebrate Father’s Day on June 16? We offer the following ideas:
  • Make his day, or even his weekend extra special with a round (or two) of golf. Uxbridge’s Wooden Sticks is celebrating their 20th anniversary this year and is a great course, featuring eight golf holes inspired by famous designs from the PGA Tour. There are more than 50 fantastic courses to choose from in the region.
  • Take a road trip and experience the region’s burgeoning craft brewery scene. Add an element of fun by following Durham’s own Green Belt Brewery Discovery Route, Rural Routes & Dirty Boots. Or, if pop’s a history buff, consider the Temperance and Temptation self-guided tour and experience some drama in Durham with the War on Whisky.
  • Get the adrenaline going with a visit to the Treetop Eco-Adventure Park in Oshawa. Zip-line and obstacle courses, axe-throwing*, and combat archery* are all available on site.
  • Enjoy a hike on one of Durham's many trails, from waterfront walks to treks through the rolling hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine.

* Reservations required, groups of six or more.

It was a great opening weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) in Clarington this past Victoria Day, with six different motorsport championships, 13 races and 22 hours of on-track racing action.

Durham Tourism has teamed up with Sam Fellows ( Sam Fellows Racing) this season as he competes in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama Tire Canada.
