Discover the F.B.I.s (fungus, bacteria, invertebrates) of composting and how to grow these beneficial microorganisms. Compost tea, Korean natural farming, and traditional Hawaiian methods of composting will also be discussed. This class also includes a tour of Hawaiian Sanctuary's composting systems.
Bio: Known as "Dr. Sustainability" on Oahu, Jeremai Cann is a Jamaican-born islander who was first taught about growing food by his parents on their family land where he learned that water is key to life.
A graduate of the University of Florida, he entered the environmental field professionally in 1996 as an Environmental Compliance Inspector with the Miami-Dade County of Florida.
During this time he gained an avid interest in alternative energy systems and organic agriculture.
Moving to Oahu in 2004, Jeremai kindled his passion for eco-friendly education as a consultant and teacher of renewable energy and sustainability.
Dr. Sustainability now resides in Orchidland, and when not at work on the Farm at Hawaiian Sanctuary, he builds and sells tiny homes and continues to offer his environmental consultation and educational services to island neighbors near and far.

Authentic Relating Games 6/15
What is this!? What are Authentic Relating Games?
Authenticity is acting and speaking in alignment with our inner feelings, desires, and needs-our truth. Authentic Relating (AR) is the practice of bringing our truth into connection with others', so that we can weave a more rich human experience.
Authentic Relating Games are an easy and fun way to introduce AR into daily life. They can help us experience deeper connections, boost empathy, see the world through others' eyes, and understand ourselves better so that we can enjoy life more. The games are fun, highly interactive partner and group exercises that demonstrate and explore AR, and getting to know yourself better while at the same time learning to see and appreciate more about everyone you connect with. These games are NOT board games like 'Chutes & Ladders' or 'Checkers' (they're better
).
Authentic also means that there is no cookie-cutter mold for how you "should" be or what relating "should look like". Everyone is a complete universe unto themselves, has a unique style, personality, and integrity that is perfectly them, and everyone is perfect and amazing as they are (including in their belief that they aren't.)
Join us for a FUN night of connection! Be the Authentic YOU!
We are limited on how many participants we can comfortably have so please RSVP if you are planning to attend.
Please wear comfortable clothing.
Please plan to arrive early to park and check in.
Doors will close promptly at 5:00
Suggested donation $15
Location: New Earth Mandala
12-1092 Kaimu Makena Homestead Road
Pahoa, Hawaii 96778

Aloha! See you on June 15th
