A Fall of Festivities & Fellowship!

High School Preview Night

Seventh and eighth grade families attended our annual High School Preview Night, where they met students and faculty from 15 local high schools, including Ursuline Academy of Dallas, The Covenant School, Cristo Rey, Cambridge School of Dallas, Trinity Christian Academy, St. Mark's School of Texas, and many more.

Volleyball and Cross Country

Girls' volleyball and boys' cross country finished up their seasons for the fall. The boys worked extremely hard in cross country, with many setting personal records for individual running times. The girls' volleyball team boasted several victories and a fun season! (Pictured: win against Dallas Academy, roses given to graduating 8th graders)

PTF Picnic

Our Parent Teacher Fellowship organization hosted a picnic on our playground for WDCS families and faculty last Friday. We played games, ate popsicles, and delighted in fellowship. Community gatherings are central to our mission of caring for the whole family.

Mariqua Hasan, Class of '09

Mariqua attended WDCS for her 5th to 8th grade years between 2005-2009. After graduating high school from The Cambridge School of Dallas, she moved to Waco to pursue her BA & MA in Corporate Communications at Baylor University.

When asked about her time at WDCS, this is what Mariqua shared:

"Looking back, what impacted me most was how WDCS provided a strong academic foundation and an early introduction to structured learning. It was also the school that connected me to the high school where I would eventually grow into myself, build lasting relationships, and find more of my voice.

While much of who I am today has been shaped by my family and the values they instilled, as well as my later educational experiences, WDCS helped set the stage. It introduced me to a larger supportive community, discipline, plus early exposure to ancient language and even etiquette lessons (which I found myself drawn to and have continued to value ever since)."
