Few Thoughts 11-2-2018
November Greetings to You!

You can tell that Fall has arrived. Winds are picking up and the temps are changing the slightest bit. I’ve been enjoying reading and hearing of the many outreach events taking place across the district with Fall Festivals and “Trunk r Treats”. Many of our churches went above and beyond to reach children and families in our communities. Great job, Church!

I would like to share a word of “Thanks” in each of my writings for these Few Thoughts during the month of November; I have so much to be thankful for...So much!
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story – those He redeemed from the hand of the foe, those He gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. Some wandered in wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle… Some sat in darkness, in utter darkness, prisoners suffering in iron chains… Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities… Some went out in the sea in their ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters…
Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind, for He satisfies the thirsty, and fills the hungry with good things… Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind for He breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through the bars of iron… Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them sacrifice with thank offerings and tell of His works with songs of joy… Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind. Let them exalt Him in the assembly of the people and praise Him in the council of the elders.
(Psalm 107)
  • It does not matter where you have been or what you have done in the days gone by, BUT today we all have great reasons to give thanks to the Lord. He is our Redeemer and Savior. He is our Provider and Sustainer. He is our Good Shepherd and our Protector. Jesus is our Friend! Think with me on some of the Hymns we so love to sing:
  • “My chains fell off, my heart was free. I rose went forth and followed Thee.”
  • “Redeemed how I love to proclaim it; Redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.”
  • “Wonderful grace of Jesus, reaching the most defiled. By its transforming power, making him God’s dear child.”
  • “And the transaction so quickly was made when as a sinner I came – Took of the offer of Grace He did proffer, He saved me, O praise His dear name.”
  • “I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore… Love lifted me.”
  • “He saved me from every sin and harm, Secures my soul each day. I’m leaning strong on His mighty arm; I know He’ll guide me all the way. Saved by His power divine, saved to new life sublime! Life now is sweet and my joy is complete for I’m saved, saved, SAVED!”
Church Ministries

San Fernando:  Last week I enjoyed worshiping and sharing in the Word with our great church in San Fernando. Thank you, Pastor Adrian and Elvira Velasco, along with your wonderful team of leaders, for the work and ministries you are doing in the San Fernando Valley. It’s always great to hear and then see all that the Lord is doing through you. May the Holy Spirit of God continue to shine through you as you bless your community with the Gospel of Christ!
