Red, white and blue have always been one of Judy's favorite color combinations. Show off your creativity and patriotism with a beginner-friendly beaded scarf! This scarf is so easy - all you do is knit. Since the scarf is constructed in the round there is no need to purl. This project is also perfect for learning how to incorporate beads into your work. Knit with DK weight yarn and a size 5 or 6 circular 16" needle. Class fee is $25 and beads will be provided. Use red, white and blue Debbie Bliss Cashmerino yarn for a scarf you will want to wear all year long. Tuesday, August 14 or Monday August 27th, 3 pm.
Hand dyed yarns are either dyed across the hank or dyed around the hank, Either way, you can make the most of the design if you know the "Magic Number" of stitches that it takes to consume one entire revolution of the hank. Once you know this, you can control the color pooling, to stack the colors, spiral the colors, or create an argyle pattern! It takes some swatching to create the magic, but the special effects are worth it! Join Joan on Thursday, August 16th or 23rd from 2:00 - 4:00 to decipher the magic number and start a great cowl or scarf. The class is free with purchase of Plymouth Special Reserve Worsted or Fingering yarn.
