November 2015

New Hours of Operation:
10 am to 5 pm, Mondays and Tuesdays,
Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Closed Sundays and Wednesdays.

The first hard frost has blanketed Kentucky, hinting at the life cycle changes just around the bend. We prepare for a period of rest after summer's labors. The growing season is coming to an end and the time is right for internal growth. This is when we ponder great things, examine priorities and reflect on our paths so far. We use this time to recharge our batteries, restore our souls, return to our roots. Find that perfect hank of soft, warm wool, pick up those warm wooden needles and find the meditative spirit that comes from quiet time with your knitting.

We'll mix it up a little in November. Bring your wheel or spindle on  Saturday, November 14, 3:00  and join our community of spinners! We love to see what you're working with, what techniques you employ. and in general just sharing some time with friends.  You might find refreshments, and share a laugh or two along the way.

Bring 6 copies of your favorite holiday recipe to share, to enter a drawing for a bump of luxury spinning fiber.

We will have some additional spinning wheels for sale in the shop.  Stop in and take a test drive! Both are easy to use even for beginners, and versatile enough to for experienced spinners as well.

Attention Weavers!

A friend of the shop is relocating and downsizing and must part with her incredible loom. This is a LeClerc 45" Nilart Loom with matching bench, made of beautiful maple. The 12 harness loom comes with 3 reeds, all manuals and some accessories. It is priced to sell! Contact Joan and she will put you in touch with the seller.

Along the same line, she is also parting with a much loved Amish spinning wheel and chair. Both are in pristine condition; the chair puts you in the best position for hours of trouble free spinning.  Joan will make the connection with the seller.

We are facilitating these communications to keep the seller's contact information discrete. These pieces are not in our store but will be made available for inspection to interested buyers. Thanks very much!
