September is right around the corner! School is in session already and it won't be long before we smell the hint of autumn leaves in the air.

You won't want to miss Berea's Spoonbread Festival, September 15 - 17! Watch for Captain Spoonbread, check out the car show, do the run/walk, bring your favorite pooch to the dog show.  And along the way,  stop in at Fiber Frenzy and share your best experiences with us!

Judy will help you start a beautiful crocheted or knitted shawl/scarf using Katia Paints.  One ball of yarn has all the color changes you like with no extra work on your part.  September 8th or 14th, 2 pm.  Class fee of $40 includes yarn.  Bring size 7  32" circular needles or size G or H crochet hook.

Reyna has been one of the most popular free patterns on Ravelry for years!  It is a fantasti c triangular shawl, with alternating garter and eyelet sections.  Perfect for variegated or gradient sock yarn, one hank makes a nice shawl. Stop in to select your yarn from our wide assortment, then cast on with Joan on September 15 or 22 at 1:00.  She'll see you through the project in just a few weeks, and you'll have a great accessory for Fall!  Class is free with purchase of yarn.

The Rippled Capelet is a perfect accessory for fall days when there is just  a slight chill in the air.  DK weight yarn with an easy to memorize feather and fan repeat pattern works up fast on #6 32" circular needles.  Get started with Judy on Saturday, September 16 at 1:30 pm and continue on Monday, September 25 at 1:30 pm. Class fee is $20.   Purchase your yarn prior to class.

Does your sock practice need a little sweetening up? Joan will get you off on the right foot with the "I Heart Bees" cuff-down socks.  This is a nice textured sock with a lovely honeycomb stitch pattern, suitable for a tonal sock yarn.  Cuff down heel flap socks are a basic architectural style; the stitch pattern adds both visual and stitching interest.  Cast on September 1 at 1:00 and get a good start on the leg; we'll continue when you are ready to work the heel.  Class is free with the purchase of sock yarn.

Ready for a Magic Number Tutorial?  The Magic number is the number of knitted stitches that it takes t o complete one color repeat.  Once you know the magic number you can create great knitted effects by varying the number of stitches.  Join Joan on September 21 at 1:00 with your favorite hand painted yarn and appropriate needles and we'll do the  math to figure out YOUR magic number.  Class fee is $20.

Let's play with Magic Numbers!  Jessica will lead you through the process to calculate the magic number and use that to crochet an argyle pattern without changing yarn!  This technique is so cool; once you learn how you will use it to create beautiful patterns with variegated yarns. The class meets September 28th at 2:00 p.m.  Bring a size H or I crochet hook.  Class fee is $20 with purchase of yarn.

Let's get spinning! Have you recently been introduced to a wheel or spindle? Here's an opportunity to practice and benefit from group experience - our monthly spinning day is  September 23 , from 3 - 7 (ish).  We gather around with wheels, spindles, needles and hooks and solve all the world's problems while improving our skills.  Bring a dish to share - a snack, a sweet, a beverage - make new friends and strengthen old bonds.

Jessica is in the house on three dates during September.  Want a spinning tune up? Schedule some one-on-one time on  September 7, between  2:00 - 5:00 p.m.  or on  September 23 from  noon - 3:00 p.m.  Remember, when Jessica is in the house, Jessica's Creations yarns and fibers are 20% off!

Registrations are coming in for Pins & Needles 2018!  We have a well-rounded lineup in store for you this time.  Your registration fee covers all instruction, breakfasts/breaks, and a bunch of fun. In the sewing category we have two great project series.  One will give you an opportunity to learn quilt-as-you-go techniques.  In this project, the seaming and quilting are done in one step, stitching the pieced top, batting and backing together at the same time.  Add a binding and your project is complete in less than a day.  If you are a beginning quilter or wannabe, this is the series for you.  The other project is a great sweatshirt makeover.  No precision cutting required, this is a fun, free form raw edge applique project that turns an oversized sweatshirt into a fashion statement.
