USDA ASCF Program for Specialty Crop Farmers

Many growers have likely seen this already, but USDA’s Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers program is worth a quick check with your FSA office if you haven't looked into it.


  • Tomatoes are listed as an eligible Tier 2 crop, with a payment rate of $225 per acre based on reported 2025 planted acres
  • USDA says pre-filled applications are available for producers who timely filed 2025 crop acreage reports
  • Online enrollment opened June 1
  • County office enrollment opens June 8
  • Applications are due August 7
