Summer is upon us!

June is here - fireflies, farmers' markets, fun and food! Summer activity is heating up. So is HHP's assistance to homeowners - for repairs, rehabs and loans! Our numbers of clients-assisted continues to climb. Now's the season for outdoor fun and projects! Read on about news-making cities that participate in our Heritage Home Program (HHP), as well as info on great celebrations, resources for your residents, and more. Your support of homeowners helps keep generational family houses in the same family for more generations! Thank you!

Celebrate Juneteenth! Saturday, June 19

Juneteenth celebrates the day in 1865, June 19, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce that "all slaves are free", two months after the Civil War had ended. Did you know, this week Juneteenth was designated a national holiday? It was voted on by Congress and signed by the President. Celebrations and commemorations are happening across the country and in HHP participating communities!!

Did you know CRS (Cleveland Restoration Society) has a Youtube Channel? True! And our HHP videos live there! Have a burning question about... *double-hung windows? *what your house looked like in the past? *what the heck to do when asbestos is present? Farmer's markets boost local economy and vibrancy

Besides offering great food and a chance to meet farmers, farmers' markets are economic drivers. They also enliven public spaces, promote public health, and are fun! Many of HHP's participating communities have farmers' markets. Check out a farmer's market this month - it's relaxing, fun, and a few allow dogs on leashes (check first).

did you know... ...cities can join HHP at any time

Have friends in cities that are not part of HHP? Who wish they had access to HHP services?  We can take on new communities at any time - and work with a municipality to get started in our program. Highlights of services we offer to owners of homes built 50 years ago or more, in participating cities, include: free impartial advice on maintenance, repair priorities, preservation issues, and more, plus a very competitive low-interest loan. HHP Virtual Events Wednesdays, 6pm, free!

Join HHP most Wednesday evenings for live online sessions about how we work with homeowners, and special topics particular to older houses. Something for everyone!
