The Town of West Hartford conducted its second public information meeting on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, for its Speed Management Camera Program in an effort to update and solicit input from the public.

This second meeting provided an update on the project status from Town staff and the Town’s consultant team, VHB and VN Engineers, which included the proposed location for 15 primary and five alternate locations for speed cameras. These locations were selected based on speed-related crashes, traffic volumes, Vision Zero focus areas, police data, and pedestrian generators.

The consultant team is producing an Automated Traffic Enforcement Safety Device Plan for approval by the Town Council, Connecticut Department of Transportation, and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) as required by the State and by the Town’s grant administrator, FHWA, before selecting a speed camera vendor to install and activate the speed management cameras.

The proposed speed camera locations can be viewed in this map.
