St. Francis Xavier Lay Missionary Society
This weekend, July 15/16, Tricia Bølle, of the St. Francis Xavier Lay Missionary Society, will share her vocation as a lay missionary in Asia for more than 15 years. She is a passionate young lay woman searching for men and women to help share the light of Christ with young adults in Asia through a diverse ministry of evangelization, faith formation, and social justice. Our mission is aimed at empowering the lay faithful to grow in the knowledge of their faith and live out their calling in Christ, as well as serving the needs of many disenfranchised groups such as victims of abuse, migrants, orphans, and special needs populations, often serving alongside Mother Teresa’s sisters.

Welcome the Stranger Update
"Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you."
—Mother Teresa
Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Welcome the Stranger Coordinator, Don Kauffold, joined Catholic Charities Regional Director, Marilu Gonzalez, on the podcast, Catholic Charities Voice of Charity to discuss the Welcome the Stranger Program from a parish perspective. "When a parish walks with the family, breaks bread with the family, celebrates liturgy with the family... it's a beautiful thing," Marilu Gonzalez remarked. "It's about helping people in dire need," Don said. He went on to share the important work of his fellow Welcome the Stranger Ministers; Pablo, Victoria, Paola and Samantha, in establishing a connection with Italo, Jugla and Chloe and helping them feel connected and supported here.

| Praise in the Car. A new practice this season from Ablaze Family Ministries: Long commute to work or quick run to the grocery store? Try dedicating your time in the car to praise! Maybe you only listen to prayerful music or just take the ride in silent prayer. You’re going to be stuck in the car anyway, may as well use this time to rest your heart on God’s heart. | |
Eucharistic Adoration. In addition to our First Friday devotion, don't forget that we have opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration every week. Adoration begins at the conclusion of the 8:15am daily Mass:
-
Wednesdays at St. Julian Eymard Church, until approximately 8:00pm when Reconciliation concludes.
-
Saturdays at Queen of the Rosary Church, until approximately 1:00pm when Reconciliation concludes.

Gospel in Focus
July 16, 2023 When we make our hearts fertile ground for theLord, He will produce good fruit in us... “But theseed sown on rich soil is the one who hears theword and understands it, who indeed bearsfruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.” —Matthew 13:23
—Matthew 13:23
Discussion Questions
What steps does a farmer or a gardener take to produce a good harvest? How can our family dothat with the Word of God?
What makes it harder to hear the Word of God?
How can we make our hearts like “rich soil,” as open for God as possible?
