"Behold,
God’s dwelling is with the human race."
~ Revelation 21:3

Sunday's Readings:
First Reading — Paul and Barnabas continue their travels, spreading the faith and unifying the churches (Acts 14:21-27).
Psalm — I will praise your name for ever, my king and my God (Psalm 145).
Second Reading — John’s vision of God dwelling with the human race (Revelation 21:1-5a).
Gospel — As Jesus has loved us, so we must love one another (John 13:31-33a, 34-35).
|
|
Although we are five full weeks into the celebration of Easter, Sunday’s readings focus on newness. Our Easter food leftovers may be long gone, but the readings insist on every moment’s freshness in the risen Jesus.
The Acts of the Apostles depicts Paul and Barnabas reflecting on all the innovative work that God has done with them. They have traveled hundreds of miles, introducing faith in Jesus Christ to all who listen, even Gentiles. For the dutiful Jewish scholar Paul, preaching to Gentiles is a completely unique development. Jesus calls Paul, and us, not to be afraid of new challenges: as John the Evangelist reports in Revelation, Jesus promises to “make all things new.”
In the Gospel reading, Jesus even gives us a new commandment. The Hebrew Scriptures overflow with commandments, but Jesus knows we need one more, perfect mission: “love one another.”

Spring, a season of renewal and hope, is adorned in the natural beauty of new life. God’s great creation bursts forth with the sights, smells and sounds of a world emerging from the slumber of winter. Green grass, flowering trees, chirping birds and gentle rains fill our senses and hearts with a great anticipation of good things to come.

In response to the leak of a draft opinion in the Supreme Court case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Senate has scheduled another vote on the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act, S. 4132. Among other extreme actions, this bill would:
-
Impose abortion on demand nationwide throughout every stage of pregnancy
-
Eliminate existing pro-life laws nationally AND in every state and local government
-
Force Americans to financially support abortions in the U.S. & abroad
-
Likely force health care providers to participate in abortions against their beliefs
-
Likely force employers and insurers to cover or pay for abortion

The Matter of Life steps into the topic of abortion with tasteful reality and loving grace. Featuring the stories of women, former abortion clinic workers, historians, religious workers, pro-life atheists, and many more, The Matter of Life stresses entering this conversation with understanding, love, and support. Doing so is critical to save the lives of the unborn and to care for the women who carry them.
This award-winning film is changing hearts and saving lives and will be in select theaters nationwide May 16th and 17th only. Tickets are available now. Get Your Tickets Today!

During the height of the COVID Pandemic, we added chairs around the perimeter of the church at St. Julian Eymard to help with seating. Though the capacity, spacing and masking restrictions of the pandemic have been lifted, we have kept the chairs in place to help with seating for larger gatherings such as Easter and First Communion. However, over the last several weeks, we have noticed many open spaces in the pews and so will be removing the extra chairs against the wall after this Sunday. We thank you for your understanding!

Thank you for participating in the Church’s largest consultation in history! Unlike a council beginning in Rome and then being disseminated around the world, a synod is a grass-roots effort that takes place at the local level. In October, Our Holy Father introduced the “Synod on Synodality” because He believes that only the entire people of God journeying together can answer the question, “What is the Holy Spirit saying to the church today?”

Last call for Sponsorships!
Track-A-Thon has become a highly-anticipated day of fun and celebration for students, teachers and staff alike. It is also one of the school's major annual fundraisers. Enthusiasm for the event, both beforehand in collecting pledges and on the track, is a testament to student's dedication to our parish school.
Thank you to everyone who has already pledged support by becoming a Corporate or Family sponsor. There's still time to help! For students in K-8th grade, we're using the website MyBooster to track pledges for each student.
Please contact the school (847) 437-3322 or
