Fifth Sunday of Easter: A New Commandment

0h, Lord Jesus, in today's Gospel of John, I hear You giving me a "new commandment" to love one another as You have loved Your disciples. I am to love others as You loved them. And that this how all will know that I am one of Your disciples. Give me the grace today to love as You loved. Let me be Your forgiveness, Your mercy, Your hands to assist others, Your heart to love others that may have offended me, especially those in my own family when it is sometimes difficult. Let me be Your mercy to those in need as You did during Your public life. Give me this grace of Your compassion in my life today for family friends and others who are hurting and are in need of Your love. Amen.
