Fighting rampant anti-Israel bias in Canadian journalism


As anti-Israel bias becomes increasingly prevalent in Canadian media, organizations and allies, such as the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) and Dan Donovan of Ottawa Life Magazine, are working to hold media outlets accountable. Their efforts aim to ensure fair and accurate reporting on the war in Israel and the alarming rise of antisemitism in Canada, which has deeply shaken the Jewish community in Ottawa and across the country.

Monthly Mifgash program connects women in Ottawa and Etzba HaGalil


Connecting with Israel has never been more important. As the war continues, many Jews on both sides of the Atlantic have felt isolated and ostracized. In response, the Jewish Federation of Ottawa helped start the Monthly Mifgash program for women as a way to forge new friendships between Ottawa and our partnership region.

As Active Jewish Adults (AJA) 50+ celebrates its 25th anniversary, the organization continues to grow, offering new programs and initiatives for its members. Recently awarded a Jewish Journeys' grant from Federation, AJA 50+ aims to expand its reach and strengthen its role as a vibrant hub for active Jewish adults for years to come.

Voices: Celebrating 18 years of the Thelma Steinman Seniors Support Unit


Named after a community member who who worked tirelessly to help others, the Thelma Steinman Seniors Support Unit provides a number of services to the wider senior community in Ottawa. From day programs to kosher meals on wheels, this service is an asset to this community, explains Jewish Family Services' Director of Development David Dern.
