A Warning. A Wake-Up Call. A Rally Cry.
In just 100 days, Donald Trump has unleashed an authoritarian agenda that is dismantling our democracy, targeting immigrants, and centralizing power in the hands of a few. From Washington to Austin, the far-right is moving swiftly to roll back progress and silence dissent.
This is not politics as usual. This is a coordinated assault on our freedoms and Collin County is not immune.
What We’re Facing
DOGE: Government Overreach Disguised as Efficiency
Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, has been granted unprecedented access to federal systems, bypassing traditional checks and balances. DOGE has laid off thousands of federal employees, canceled contracts, and even accessed sensitive data without proper oversight. This consolidation of power threatens the very fabric of our democratic institutions and has triggered a constitutional crisis.
Mass Deportations and Immigration Crackdowns
The administration has implemented sweeping immigration policies, including mass deportations, revoking legal statuses, and targeting humanitarian programs. These actions have led to the separation of families and the undermining of our nation's values not to mention the Supreme Court.
Voting Rights Under Attack
The Department of Justice has abandoned civil rights enforcement, enabling Texas Republicans to escalate voter suppression efforts. In Collin County, students, seniors, and voters of color are being directly targeted through purges and restrictive ID laws.
Public Education Undermined
Trump's push to dismantle the Department of Education, combined with Governor Abbott's voucher schemes, is draining resources from our public schools. Local districts like Allen ISD and McKinney ISD are facing larger class sizes and fewer programs.
Healthcare Access Eroded
With the rollback of Affordable Care Act protections and the promotion of Medicaid work requirements, thousands of Collin County families are losing access to affordable healthcare.
Economic Instability
Trump's tariffs and tax policies favoring the wealthy are driving up costs for working families. Local businesses are struggling, and wages remain stagnant.
Environmental Protections Rolled Back
The elimination of clean air and water regulations, coupled with expanded drilling, poses significant risks to our communities. ERCOT grid vulnerabilities remain unaddressed, increasing the threat of future blackouts.
Civil Rights Reversed
Federal protections for LGBTQ+ individuals have been repealed, and enforcement of disability rights has been weakened. Hate crimes and discrimination are on the rise in our black and brown communities.
Foreign Policy Chaos
Trump's withdrawal from international agreements and weakening of alliances have led to economic instability and put jobs at risk in North Texas.

This is not the time to sit on the sidelines. The Collin County Democratic Party is mobilizing to fight back against this dangerous agenda. But we need more than anger we need action.

Stand Up for Workers' Rights & Justice for Immigrants!

Meeting Point: Park in the parking garage near Brio/Cheesecake Factory and meet in front of the area in front of Fish City Grill in the grassy area.
This May 3rd, join us at Watters Creek to observe May Day and raise our voices in solidarity with workers, labor unions, and immigrant communities! As the Trump Administration continues to threaten labor rights and enact cruel, inhumane immigration policies, including family separations and mass deportations, we refuse to stay silent. Together, we’ll protest systemic overreach and demand justice for ALL.
Why Attend?
FIGHT for worker dignity: Fair wages, safe workplaces, and the right to unionize.
DEFEND immigrant families: End detention centers, deportations, and policies that tear communities apart. DEMAND justice for those illegally sent to El Salvador, such as Kilmar Abrego Garcia, without due process BUILD solidarity: Unite across movements to challenge oppressive systems and corporate greed.

Plano AsiaFest '25 is a family friendly festival that has free admission and free parking in City lots and is scheduled for May 3rd at Haggard park from 11AM - 5PM. It hosts signature cultural performances from all parts of Asia.
CCDP is looking for volunteers to help with morning setup and evening takedown, as well as take shifts throughout the day to engage visitors sharing what Collin Democrats are all about and signing up those interested in volunteering or subscribing to The Rally newsletter.

Time To Put Pressure On The Democrats Folding For Republicans
Call them. Pressure them. Make them remember who they work for.
Republicans already showed us exactly who they are last week. They gutted the memorial calendar out of spite. They nuked the Local and Consent Calendar just to “own the libs,” killing dozens of their own bills in the process. They don’t care about governing. They care about power. And they’ll burn the whole place down if it means clinging to a few cheap talking points for the primary.
And now, after wrecking their own agenda, they want Democrats to save them.
