Dear friends and neighbors,

Democrats have been working in Washington, D.C., to keep the government open and serving Central Floridians as extreme MAGA Republicans drag the nation towards a reckless government shutdown. I'm committed to doing my part to resolve this and get back to serving the American people.

This week, we were proud to host SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman in Central Florida as we visited several small businesses in the area and hosted a roundtable with small business owners. Additionally, we hosted a UCF town hall with students and U.S. Department of Education Assistant Secretary Roberto J. Rodríguez, Congressman Maxwell Frost, and Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Nannette Barragán.

We also participated in a press conference with Congressman Frost to highlight the creation of the first federal Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The office will work to implement the Safer Communities Act and ensure more action is taken to prevent tragedies.

I'm proud of our accomplishments this week and look forward to continuing our work to improve the lives of Central Floridians.
