About The Presenter

Presented by Torie Charvez

Torie has almost 40 years’ experience in the tax and accounting arenas.

Prior to becoming an Enrolled Agent in 2005, Torie worked 10 years as an accounting manager in a wholesale company, while “moonlighting” at one of the National Tax Franchise companies. Her passion for tax work led her to a small local CPA firm until she left in 2010 to open the doors of Tax Goddess, located in San Jose, CA.

Torie has volunteered time to San Francisco State University’ s VITA site for the past 14 years. Torie also volunteers for the IRS / EDD Speaking Cadre on payroll taxes (for longer than she can remember) and has been a faculty member for Lorman Educational Services.

Proudly served the Mission Society of Enrolled Agents Board in various capacities, including President. Served the California Society of Enrolled Agents at the state level as chair of the Finance & Budget committee, also served on the Board of Directors in serval officer roles, including a short term as President.

What’s next? Her next challenge is to complete her Masters in Taxation at Golden Gate University in San Francisco so that she can start teaching the next generation of tax and accounting professionals.
