Filled to Overflowing

Greetings!

It is rainy season in Colombia...which means it isn't uncommon for a short, torrential rain fall to cause water to overflow from rivers and storm drains. However, they aren't the only things overflowing. Our calendar is overflowing with Annual meetings, Area Director meetings and other virtual meetings.

More importantly, our inboxes and cellphones are overflowing with messages about how God is fulfilling the great commission and fulfilling the vision that He gave to us as an area...even in spite of the coronavirus pandemic! As a result, our thanksgiving is overflowing for the glory of God, just as it says in 2 Corinthians 2:14! It is so exciting!!!

Virtual Overflow Seating

Today's annual meeting in Nicaragua is a hybrid version. Most of participants are in person, enjoying one another's fellowship (and apparently delicious food). However, the overflow seating is facilitated via zoom. A handful of people are attending online from El Salvador. Of course, Ricardo is joining from Colombia, Dr. Huiberth Zapata (the Mission District Leader) is joining from Costa Rica, and Dr. Casto Rojas (the Ministry Mentor) is joining from Venezuela. Teaching has been done in video form from other parts of the region. What a great blessing it is to work as part of wonderful team!

We are overflowing with gratitude for your partnership in ministry! Your notes, prayers and financial gifts are very encouraging to us. As we near the end of year, we thought it time to give you a financial report. As the chart above shows, when all of the commitments are fulfilled this year, we will still have a 15% deficit in our support account. Of course the beauty of each of these meetings is that Ricardo will attend them from the comfort of his home-office here in Medellín!

We are also thankful that because restrictions have lifted a little we are able to travel 30 minutes from home for a short vacation...our first one this year!

A quick family update in closing...

Jonathan turned 15 on September 21st. He is now 5'10''...just a hair shorter than his father!
Juliana's school has made the oficial decision that her classes will remain online for the rest of the year. Her last day of school will be November 27.

Last weekend we were able to preach at Wilmore Free Methodist Church during their Mission's week. We also attended a Bible Study with Manhattan First Free Methodist Church. It was, of course, all done online but we appreciated the opportunities to reconnect. If you'd like us to speak at your church or to small group, please get in touch! Of course the invitation for a virtual coffee still stands as well!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for being a part of our lives and ministry! Thank you for praying with us for the leadership load and everything going on in the area. Thank you also for rejoicing with us over the greatness of our God as we watch Him work! Our thanksgiving overflows. May it be the same with you!
