VERGE THEATER PRESENTS:
LYSISTRATA
| |
It's 411 B.C., and the women of Greece are tired of the never-ending, all-consuming Peloponnesian war. Tired of the men being away and the strain of conflict, Lysistrata devises a bold and clever plan: all women must withhold intimacy from their husbands and lovers until peace is achieved. While the women strike, chaos ensues as the men, desperate for intimacy, struggle to maintain their authority and think clearly.
This classical Greek comedy is legendary for its timeless take on the battle of the sexes and laugh-out-loud physical comedy. Its conversations around frustration with leadership, hunger for peace, the want of autonomy, and the struggles within a relationship are hidden in the jokes keeping this piece of theater surprisingly relevant 2,000 years later.

BOZEMAN DOC SERIES: A GOOD WOLF | |
A Good Wolf examines a 40-year conflict over a single tract of land adjacent to Denali National Park — a volatile struggle between state and federal authorities, fur trappers and wildlife advocates and competing human interests on public lands. Armed with thorough data, biologists and activists bring a new proposal to state authorities, hoping to regain protections for wolves near the park boundary. However, local trappers are adamantly opposed. Hanging in the balance are some of America’s most iconic animals and wild places.

There is a Season
Madison Perrins
These paintings created by Madison Perrins were guided by an appreciation for the singular energy each season of life can bring to the outer and inner landscape. The artist uses her understanding that each season contains its own unique lesson to try and enjoy the gift of them in real time: the mercurial quality of spring, the whisper of solitude in fall, or the bright shock of summer. Her work lifts up a deeply personal spirituality held in the landscape, especially inspired by the sweeping expanses of the Western US & her beloved Montana. In turns, her imagery embodies joy, playfulness, power, the sacred, interiority, and radiant energy.
