Cooley Dickinson Hospital is hosting a public forum on March 2 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm to provide information about their Emergency Department renovation project and specifically to receive your comments and feedback about their plan to add a CT Scanner within the Emergency Dept.

At this forum they will present an overview of the project, the benefits of adding a CT Scanner, and address your questions and comments. This forum is free, virtual, and open to the public. Flyers in English and Spanish are linked here.

Recovery Center of HOPE in Ware

Ware, MA has opened a public recovery center called the Recovery Center of HOPE, formerly known as the Ware Regional Recovery Center. This Center is located at 52 Main Street in Ware, in a newly remodeled space. The Center is currently open two days a week. The Center primarily serves the 18 surrounding towns that make up the Quaboag Hills Region. Learn more about the Recovery Center of HOPE.

CHD buying new group homes

MassDevelopment has issued a $3 million tax-exempt bond on behalf of the Center for Human Development. They will use funds to buy four residential group homes in Chicopee and Springfield that will house 24 individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health care needs. CHD will also buy and renovate a commercial building at 55-69 Union St. in Easthampton to be used for behavioral health outpatient services, including urgent care. A handful of states and counties are testing ways to provide urgent mental care outside the ER and reduce this strain on hospitals. Massachusetts has contracted with four agencies to provide intensive counseling at home through a program called emergency department diversion.
