December 17, 2020
Dear Friends in Christ:

As I look at the final two weeks of December on my desk calendar, I realize it is best to send one update to carry us through to the end of 2020. (I'm assuming you won't have reading an e-mail from me at the top of your list of things to be doing on Christmas Eve.)

And so, this will be the last weekly update for 2020. Hopefully, you'll find everything you need to know to carry you through to the end of this long strange trip called 2020. I'll send the next email on New Year's Day, unless there is some pressing news before then.

EPIPHANY LESSONS AND CAROLS
From Andrew:
A reminder that we would love for your families to participate in our Epiphany Lessons & Carols by submitting a recording of one of the hymns. Likewise, we are recruiting readers for each of the lessons. If you are interested, please contact Andrew Bolden or Father George.

If you have any interest in playing handbells, which conveniently don't require any breathing, we are holding our first rehearsal on Saturday, December 19 at 10:30 AM. Contact Andrew Bolden for details.
BIRTHDAYS and ANNIVERSARIES
Celebrating birthdays over the next two weeks are Carla Moore (12/20), Melissa Allison (12/21), Liz Susor (12/22), Bob Long (12/25), Diane Mizer (12/27), Bob Schroeder (12/27), Blakely Schroeder (12/28), Donna Baer (12/28), Nancy Alvarez (12/28), Lillie Baum (12/30), and Holly McCalla (1/1).
Matt and Reena Kurian will celebrate their anniversary Texas style on January 2nd.
Be sure to send happy thoughts and good wishes to all who celebrate through the end of the year!
PRAYERS REQUESTED
Please keep these friends and parishioners in your prayers.
David Wigginton, Anne Smith, Bob Meyer, Chris Lane, Judy Wigginton, Priya Kurian, Chuck Tilley, Michael Flamm, Bob Long, Chester Brumbaugh, Stormi, Dave Cottrill, Jeff Frank, Eve, Shari, Etta Trimpi, Charlene Lochland, Dan, Sarah, Becky, Brian Dorosch, Korin and Stephanie Marsh, Pete Keplinger, Charles Conner, and all those affected by COVID 19.

We pray for the repose of the soul of Rick Trimpi.
YEAR-END CONTRIBUTIONS
I've been asked to remind you that you can still contribute to St. Timothy's for another two weeks for planning and tax purposes for the 2020 year. As a reminder, we do have offering envelopes available for the coming year. Call the office if you'd like a packet of those. And, of course, you can always contribute securely through the link on the front page of our website that says "Donate," which will take you HERE.

I have often been reminded these months of the Collect that asks that "we who are wearied by the changes and chances of this life may rest in your eternal changelessness."
Thank you to all who have been able to continue supporting our parish throughout this very strange year.
WEEKLY PUZZLE
It seems fitting to give you a closeup view of the Christmas Creche', donated by the McCalla family many years ago, and lovingly assembled each year by Tim and Carla Moore. They usually set it up in the back of the church, but I asked them to place it in the Chapel this year, so you can see it on Christmas Eve.

You will find the puzzle by clicking HERE. You can choose your background color, number of puzzle pieces, and even set it to display just the edge pieces. Plus, you get a very affirming crowd reaction once you have completed it!

Also, for your Year in Review, you can find all our previous puzzles collected in one place right HERE.
VESTRY POSITIONS
Each January, at our Annual Meeting, we elect three new Vestry members. Though I still haven't figured out how we will actually run our Annual Meeting next year, we do still need some folks willing to join Vestry for a three-year term. If you're interested, or would like more information, please contact me or a current Vestry member at your earliest convenience.
UNDERSTATEMENT DEPARTMENT
Well, this Christmas is going to look a little different from what we're used to.
In the next day or so, you should receive a packet of materials from us, which will include a Christmas Eve bulletin, a Christmas letter, a new copy of Third Street Mass, and an order form for poinsettias.
The bulletin should help you to better participate in the Christmas Eve service at 9pm. And for those who are unable to join in on the livestream, I'm hoping the bulletin will allow you to have your own service at home, reading God's word and singing the carols.
Everything about this Christmas is different, but the one thing that is not different is that Jesus will arrive right on time, just as he has been doing since the creation of the world.

God bless you and keep you, and may you and everyone you know have a happy, joyous, and safe Christmas this year.

Oh come let us adore him.

Fr. George
