Hey there Renee!

We are ending our birthday month updates with a glimpse of how some former residents are doing!

These women created a healthier, more stable foundation on which to rebuild their lives thanks to your prayers and support. Each update has led us to a VERY EXCITING announcement that will be sent separately!

Keep watching your inbox! Forward to friends who believe like YOU AND I that women deserve a chance to triumph over trauma and a place to become whole.

HARD WORK + COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT = NEW LIFE

Johnnie was with us in August 2021. She didn't graduate our program, but she experienced Jesus in a profound way when we revisited the site of a violent trauma. She says that visit "CHANGED HER LIFE."

Since leaving us, Johnnie graduated Drug Court, earned her GED, and earned a Certificate in Phlebotomy from Lake Technical College. This was her dream, to have a profession in the medical field and this is her entry step.

We are so proud of Johnnie and we stay in touch with her on Facebook, Messenger, and with occasional texts.

Cindy started with us summer of 2021 and was our first graduate March 2022. She jumped over a huge healing hurdle by confronting the loss of her newborn, Kailyn Rose. This loss had sent her into years of addiction that almost led to death by alcohol.

While with us, Cindy became our Resident Aide, House Mentor, Case Manager, and earned her Certified Recovery Peer Specialist through the Florida Certification Board.

Due to unexpected back issues and surgery in January, Cindy moved to North Carolina in April to be near her family for several reasons. We miss her, and we are so proud of her!

Arlene came in December of 2022 and thought her life had ended. She'd lost everything due to gambling addiction. During her graduation speech May 2023 she shared, "Ms. Renee, this program saved my life."

Though healing herself, she was a stabilizer for other residents in the house and loved helping in the kitchen.

Upon graduation, she entered the program at Interfaith Emergency Services for rapid rehousing and is in her own apartment and employed by Interfaith in food services! Again, we are so proud of Arlene.

Lakyla spent time with us in 2022 and 2023. She is one of our sweet girls for which both mental health and addiction challenges apply. However, she will tell you, "But God!"

Lakyla is an amazing writer and discovered Diamond Art (above) as a healthy, safe coping mechanism while with us. She can sit for hours and work on Diamond Art! She is living on her own in a local sober living house and has been employed at Lee's Famous Recipe since January doing well.

She graduated Drug Court this month which was a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT. Drug Court in Marion County is not easy. There are many requirements that must be met to graduate and she did it apart from us.

We stay in touch through Facebook and text messages.

Amber came to us in June 2023 with basically nothing and nobody. She'd put a baby up for adoption after testing positive for meth at birth. She also put off coming into the program and almost died from overdose.

Amber graduated our program October 2023, was gifted a car through a partner organization's connection to Blessed Trinity, and remained with us for transition until March 2024. She started the GED process while with us and stayed the course to completion! She's currently living on her own in a local sober living house and employed full-time at Walmart. She's continuing to be unified with her elementary age daughter.

We stay connected to Amber on Facebook and via text.

Kirsten graduated February 2024 and chose to stay with us for transition and is still here. She "hit the streets hard" landing full-time employment and she enjoys weekend visits home with her two children. She also helps us with anything we ask around the house and office.

Pictured above, Kirsten donated her hair to Wigs for Kids at her graduation haircut!

Please pray for Kirsten as she has an upcoming court date for pending charges in August. She has been working on old mindsets and healing so hard that we are trusting God will fight on her behalf. Thanks to relationships with our volunteers, she has legal representation that we believe will help.

OUR PROGRAM MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

We hope this edition of "How are they now?" was inspiring. Represented in these stories are hours and hours of homework, journaling processing talk-time, therapy, prayer, and more. And everything we do is wrapped in a love only the Father could give us for these ladies.

Next Monday I'll share our BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

We exist because women deserve a chance to triumph over trauma and a place to become whole.

Serving Him,

Renee and Trey Arnett
