IMPORTANT UPDATE:

In accordance with local, state, and federal guidance, COVID-19 protocols and guidelines expired on February 3, 2025. While COVID-19 continues to be a threat, testing and reporting requirements in schools and places of employment have ended. At AVC we encourage everyone to continue to use best practices learned during the pandemic in order to promote a healthy environment where everyone is considerate of others. Therefore, if you are experiencing symptoms or illness, please take the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. Safe practices include frequent handwashing, masking up & most importantly, staying home if you are sick.

Face coverings and vaccinations continue to be your best defense against illness.

Self-Screenings Discontinued - All Students and Employees

Effective February 3, 2025, contact tracing has been discontinued at AVC.

You are no longer required to use the self-screening tool to report illness, symptoms, or exposures to COVID-19, RSV, or Influenza. The self-screening, email, and COVID-19 phone line are no longer monitored.

FREE COVID Home Test Kits Available

COVID home tests will continue to be available, while supplies last, at no cost to employees and students.

Tests are available as needed at one of the following locations:

Facilities Services office (north side of the campus)

During campus hours
Closed for lunch from 12 pm - 1 pm

Student Health Center (SSV building)

During campus hours

Check the FDA-extended expiration dates for COVID-19 tests distributed by Antelope Valley College. Use the links below to check the tests you have on hand according to the brand and dispose of expired tests that do not meet the FDA extension guidelines.

The total number encompasses students, staff, construction workers, and vendors. It reflects people who were on campus that tested positive within 14 days of their positive test or from when their symptoms began. This is not an indication of a person being exposed on campus.
