Hip Stitch hosts "Make a Blanket Day"

Saturday, February 2
10:00 a.m. to about 3:00 p.m.

The first Saturday of February -- Groundhog's Day, this year -- is "Make a Blanket" Day.

Support Bernalillo County Project Linus, by assembling Isolette Covers for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UNM Hospital. All NICU babies receive their own blanket, and take it home. An average of 300-400 Isolette Covers are donated per year.

If you want to do machine stitching, bring your machine, or use one of the 6 we have available. If you would like to bring your own scissors, please do so.

Be there for all of it . . . be there for some of it . . . but be there for the NICU babies .

Pizza, snacks and water are provided, as are all the blanket making materials and supplies.

Contact Jeana Brosseau if you have questions; 350-1746 or  jmpinea1@gmail.com .

Jerry's Jelly Roll Jig
If you make Jellyroll rugs or bowls, you know that keeping the Katahdin and fabric neatly lined up for stitching is not the easiest thing to do.

Now there's a way to cut 25 percent to 33 percent off your assembly time and get a better quality end-product, too. Not to make too big a deal of it, but it keeps your hand from cramping up, too.

Developed by our own Cindy Bruner, this jig is made locally by Jerry, so it's called . . . Jerry's Jelly Roll Jig .

(You know it must be good, because ... alliteration!)

Look what Patricia Cotterell made!
Look what our friend Patricia made!
This patriotic quilt feature the colors, eagles, 1776, but more noteworthy, hand embroidery.

Patricia says she always finishes a quilt with a bit of hand embroidery -- in this case stars and stripes.

What have you made? Bring it in, we'd love to see it, shoot it and share it.

The Hip Stitch Annual Survey is closed, and we want to thank all of you who participated. We will be letting you know what we've discovered once we've done a bit of analysis.

Thanks again for your participation!

Undeniable Chemistry by Hoffman fabrics uses digital printing to bring out a rainbow representation of the "white line" and "black line" lighting which professional photographers consider a most excellent lighting for glassware.

This Hoffman Spectrum Digital print makes glass beakers a work of art.

We aren't saying that Lucy and Ricky or Fred and Ethel had this fabric on their furniture, but they might have.

How about "A Little Retro Vibe?"
from Hoffman fabrics?

This Hoffman Spectrum Digital print brings a retro feeling into the modern age.
