WS Anniversary

Greetings!

The week has arrived for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the World Scholars Program! We are very excited to see you in Rome, Italy to celebrate with you in the place where it all began. We’re expecting 100 alumni, students, staff, and partners for our weekend of activities! See below for reminders to make your weekend even more special:

Weekend Plans:

  • Review all schedule details on the Anniversary webpage
  • Grab your sneakers and plan to join Interim President Carlson for a run on Saturday morning.
  • Register for one or more of the Saturday add-on activities. The cooking class is full, but there is still plenty of availability for the Rome walking tour and the drawing class.
  • If you’re arriving on Friday, our Hospitality Suite will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Frohring campus (you may remember this as Tiber), located at Lungotevere Raffaello Sanzio 12. This is a place to drop off your luggage, check in for the weekend, and get your questions answered while you wait for your accommodations to be ready.
  • A Hospitality Suite will also be available on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Guarini campus, located at Via della Lungara 233. This is the meeting point for Saturday activities. Attendees who are just arriving on Saturday can also check in and store luggage if needed.

Packing:

  • Check (and bring!) your passport - your expiration date must be at least 6 months beyond your return date.
  • Pack comfortable walking shoes as the streets of Trastevere are cobblestoned.
  • Leave some room in your suitcase for a special swag bag we’ve prepared for you!
  • A lighter coat is appropriate as weather for our time in Rome looks pleasant with some possibilities for rain:

Event Attire:

  • Attire for Friday’s aperitivo reception is casual, fun, and festive!
  • Dress to impress at Saturday night’s Gala dinner, with more special evening wear.
  • Saturday add-on activities are casual with the morning run requiring sneakers and your energy! We’ll be handing out World Scholars Program hats to runners.

Communication & Photos:

  • We have a WhatsApp group for alumni who are attending the festivities that can be used for communication and coordination before and while abroad.
  • Share your event photos with each other (and UD Global) in our event Photo Circle. This is a fun and easy way to “dump” your weekend pics into one place for everyone to see.

Thank you for joining us in this celebration of the 10th anniversary of the World Scholars Program. We can’t wait to see you in Rome!
