The Skip Castro Band (the number one East Coast college band in the 80's) will be headlining our final free concert of the Springfield Nights Summer Concert Series at Burke Lake Park next Wednesday!
The Skip Castro Band is a well followed staple of 80's music with a mix of rhythm 'n blues, swing, boogie woogie, and rock 'n roll. Over the years, they have played with many household music-artists such as James Brown, Chuck Berry, Stevie Ray Vaughn, the Destroyers, the Nighthawks, and Kenny Loggins. We are looking forward to having them at our final free show this coming Wednesday, August 21st, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.
The atmosphere is informal, so bring a picnic dinner, blankets and lawn chairs, and relax with friends and family. We will have a brief opening act from one of our local talented high school musicians as well.
As always, 2 Silos Brewing will be selling their award winning craft beers, along with local favorite Peterson's Ice Cream and the La Gringa Food Truck providing delicious foods and deserts.
I want to take a moment to thank our sponsors for another incredible round of free concerts in the park this year. Without our sponsors, none of this will be possible:
- Two Silos Brewery
- Dominion Energy
- NOVEC
- 495/95 Express Lanes
- Great American Restaurants
- COX
- Sheehy Auto Stores
- Mosquito Hunters
- Glory Days Grill
