Congress to Permanently Repeal Taxes Intended to Fund ACA; Gun Violence Research Gets Funding
According to Politico , Congressional spending bills that will soon be signed into law would "permanently repeal ... the Cadillac tax on pricey employer plans, a 2.3 percent tax on medical devices and a health insurance fee." These three taxes were created to help pay for the ACA and no alternative revenue has been proposed. As part of the same year-end spending deal, Congress will “provide federal funding for gun violence research for the first time in over 20 years.”
