Sorry the newsletter is a little late. We have been going around the clock the last few weeks trying to get everything ready for summer, get crops in the ground, transition beef back to pasture and harvest the first broilers of the season.
On top of that, we wanted to do something special for Mother's Day, which includes making and finding exclusive products just for this week. Read below or order here. Because of the wine offerings and prepared foods in this week's Mother's Day Bundles, the Mother's Day menu is offered thru a separate order form. Sales will appear as Ohio City Provisions on your credit card.

Lastly, we knew many of you have credits to spend, or just want to stock up to hold you over until summer season, so we worked out some special items for the online store this week, including Red Wine Marinated Beef Stew Meat and Marinated Beef Fajita Stir Fry Steak Strips.

Mother's Day Sugar Cookies
Available on both CSA Login and the Mother's Day order form.
Our perennial fan favorite, the frosted sugar cookie. 4 large sugar cookies weighing a total of approx 16 oz. Made with organic Stutzman's flour, Minera butter, real vanilla, and organic raw sugar, these flaky cookies are topped with American buttercream, colored with natural food colorings.

Mother's Day Brunch Bundle
Our brunch bundle is intended to be a hearty brunch for the family, intended for 4 to 6 diners.
At the center of the brunch bundle is our farmmade quiches, featuring flaky lard based crust and a delicious ingredients suspended in a fluffy body of farm fresh eggs and cream.
These quiche are made with herbed turkey confit - dark meat seasoned in a cure of salt, rosemary, thyme, fennel, and red pepper flake, then braised slowly in a bubbling bath of lard, and picked from the bone. Roasted rutabagas and caramelized onions add sweetness and earthy notes to play well off of the turkey. Grated flat rock cheese - a gruyere style from Canal Junction Farmstead Cheeses in Defiance - add a creamy and nutty finish, as well as a golden top.
In addition to the quiche, each bundle includes a pan of ready-to-bake bread pudding - made with our house made brioche bread, farm fresh eggs and cream, and decorated with chocolate chips and a strawberry sauce.
As if that isn't enough, we added 4 yogurt parfaits, made with frozen berries, farm fresh Guernsey yogurt, and a cinnamon raisin granola topping.
If you aren't full yet, we had 2 lbs of meat included - 1 # of uncured smoked bacon and 1# of bacon breakfast patties.
Because of the prepared foods and wine offerings, this offering is an order form through our butcher shop, Ohio City Provisions, and available for pickup on the Fresh Fork trucks (this week only) or at OCP this week. Select your pickup location on the order form.

This is week 15 and our final winter delivery week. If you have credits, they are not refundable and do not transfer to the summer season. Please use your credits now to take advantage of the best selection.
Lauren, Faith, and the team at the warehouse have been working hard to keep the website up-to-date with the best selection of frozen goods, dairy, eggs, cheeses, and more. While produce is limited, there are plenty of staples and pantry items you can grab now to stock up for summer.

Don't Forget to Pickup
This is our last delivery of the winter season. We cannot offer any makeup bags, partial credits, or alternative pickup arrangements after this week.
Please remember to pickup your share, and if you have a special order, please remind the greeter and be sure to double check your order before getting home.

With just two more winter season pick-ups, we're already thinking ahead to summer. Snow in April seems to be the predictable unpredictable weather pattern as of late, however we are ready for some warmer days.
After the winter ends, there is a three-week break. Our team tidies up from the final delivery and then it's all hands on deck focusing on prepping the warehouse for the big upcoming summer share. It's a time of reorganizing and inventorying.
We hope you'll continue your local foods journey with us during the summer months. We are excited for what our farmers have planned for us this season. Your commitment to the summer share helps us plan with our farmers. Many crops take at 50-60 days minimum for harvest. Some of the produce planned for week 1 is already in the field.
Sign up is easy, too. You can simply reply to this email. Please include the share size (small, large, or mini), food preference (omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan), pick-up location preference and payment plan (upfront or weekly). We'll get the subscription added to your account and you'll receive a confirmation email once you're in for the season!

*We just got the call that asparagus is going to be "touch and go." I've got this message before. It means that it isn't going well. With the lack of sunshine and cool days, asparagus is weeks behind. If we don't get the asparagus in this week, we'll find a substitute item.
**Chicken backs. Please, please don't freeze these. These are a freebie in this week's bag. We have lots of them in the freezer and we are about to start processing the first broilers of the season (meaning more are about to come in). Please make bone broth/stock with your backs and have this ingredient on hand to enhance many meals throughout the upcoming summer season.
