Shooters...
Well the weather wasn’t perfect, but it was still a great Frozen Five #2 and an awesome way to wrap up the 2023 sporting clays season at Scarborough Fish & Game. We had some targets that were a little trickier than last time but were still a lot of fun. Most of all we got to hang out with our friends one more time before Christmas.
GREAT NEWS
The sporting clays course will be open for at least one more week. Both courses will be available this Wednesday from 9am-4pm and next Sunday from 10am-2pm. We are planning on staying open week by week until the snow takes over. Check the web site calendar before traveling.
RESULTS
Frozen Five #2 was a little more challenging than our last event. It had some technical targets. We had a tie for HOA between Tony Marino and Michael Keene, both with 96. Tony won by tie breaker. Congratulations to both. The 2.5 event was just as tricky. Tony continued his good day by shooting a 97 to win. Dan Parks shot a 95 for runner up. Congratulations to both.
THANK YOU
We want to give big end of the year thanks to all of the Scarborough team. Thanks to Greg and Sharon Berry for constantly serving great lunches. Thanks to Lisa and Bill. They handle so many so many score cards in a season and do an amazing job. Thanks to Jim Clemons. Jim is at the club seven days a week and most people have no idea how much he does to keep things running. Thanks to Bernie Raimo for helping to set targets all year. Thanks to Tom Fenderson for all the special projects. Special thanks to our grounds keeper Bill Scarborough. Bill is there every week mowing and cleaning the trail. Thanks to our sporting clays committee members that constantly help make our events so successful. We have the best sporting clays team around. These people are all volunteers and do this for the love of our club and love of the sport.
Well that wraps up the 2023 sporting clays season. It will be a while before we have final numbers but it looks like our biggest season ever, so as always, we want to say thank you to all of you that come to support our events. We are constantly humbled by your kind words and emails. I have to say, all of your enthusiasm is what drives us to keep improving. It wouldn’t be a complete season without remembering our founder, George Pelletier. George got all this started and laid the ground work for what you see today. George always operated off one premise, shooters are the best people, and he was right. Thank you for another great season and you have our promise...we will never stop trying to make it better.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and we hope to see you early in the new year.
