So far, as of today, (Nov 26) the combined contribution from all theSunday Family Harvest Offerings, online & mailed in donations, and collections gathered at the Harvests event last November 14 is $100,585.00.

LETTER FROM FR JOSEPH MEAGHER:

Dear St Antoninus Family:

I begin this by thanking our Lord, the Lord of the Harvest for His lavish blessings on our Thanksgiving Harvest 2021. I thank Him most of all for all of you.

Thank you for your generous contribution to our Harvest. We had a very joyful celebration in the Lord and a successful fundraising event that day.

THANK YOU to all our generous donors & sponsors.

THANK YOU to the Harvest Committee (ably led by Maureen Ogbuehi) who labored for several months in the vineyard, both behind the scenes and hands-on.

Truly, we can say that the Lord’s greatest harvest at St. Antoninus is the yielding of our hearts to Him, for a greater unity in the Body of Christ which is grounded in the love He poured out from the Cross.

Although we are not financially rich, we are extraordinarily wealthy in the beautiful diversity and unity which God has given us in Christ.

I thank the Lord for all the blessings of this past year and for you. Your intentions will be remembered in a Novena of 9 Masses I will offer for you and your family in the coming weeks.

Thank you for helping to provide the necessary means to continue to plant and build for generations yet to come.

As usual 5% of the funds will go towards charity, and 5 % will be earmarked for parish evangelization initiatives.

Let us pray...

Heavenly Father, You have blessed us abundantly through your Son our Lord Jesus of Christ, the Lord of the Harvest, the Light of the world, who has defeated the power of sin and death. Make us good stewards of the resources that you have entrusted to us in the proclamation and the building of your kingdom. Amen.

Part 1:

the Glorious Celebration of

Holy Mass

Sunday, Nov 14, 2021.

Our day began with our joyful celebration of the Eucharist. Our Mass was celebrated by Fr Joseph Meagher, and concelebrated by Fr. Albert Nzeh, Fr Marcellinus Uwandu, Fr Solomon Ngwumezie and Fr Louis Aumaitre. Fr Albert gave a stirring homily at the Mass.

Right after the General Intercession, Fr Joseph presented the St. Antoninus Service Awards for Exemplary Service to Ken Julien (37 years) and Eileen O'Hara (33 years). Continuous blessings and Congratulations!

During the Offertory, we had our Parade of Nations. We came before the altar bearing our flags and our hearts to offer ourselves, our families and our home countries in thanksgiving to the Lord of the Harvest.

Part 2: the Feast of Plenty

Immediately after our joyous Mass celebration, we all went to the church hall for our Harvest Bazaar & Festivities. We were blessed with an abundance of delicious food, dancing, entertainment and an exciting bazaar fundraising (which quickly and blissfully turned to FUNraising!)

The program started with the introductions of the

Master of Ceremonies, Uche Bonny Life Ndu and Doctor Mrs Chrstie Ikwuegbu; the Harvest Chairman: Dr. Chidi Acheb; the Parents of the Day: Christopher & Mary Akinwuntan; the Rev. Sister of the Day: Rev. Sister Mary Andrea Okafor, DMMM; the Princess of the Day: Princess Destiny Chinecherem Akwaonyeomayiri Anopueme.

Following the Opening Prayer which was led by Fr. Joseph Meagher, was the ceremonial breaking of Kola Nut, ushering in a flurry of generous Harvest contributions, both from parishioners and friends of St Antoninus.

Maureen Ogbuehi, our 2021 Thanksgiving Harvest Chairperson, gave a wonderful welcome message.

Our children were very much a part of the celebration,

first with the "unveiling" of Destiny Anopueme as our Princess of the Day, and then a lively children's dance that brought the roof down. Both elicited showers of support.

After the program, the party continued with more dancing, more laughter & smiles, and that amazing joyous feeling in the heart that that the Lord of the Harvest was with us through all the planning, preparations and celebration- blessing us and loving us all!

Maureen Ogbuehi, chairperson of Thanksgiving Harvest 2021 shared that she was so touched by the joy of our Harvest that as she drove home that night, she had tears in her eyes.
