10-month Intensive Fellowship in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health
|
|
This 10-month continuing education program offers professionals the opportunity to examine the optimal physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of infants, toddlers and young children within the context of the family. The program is designed for professionals who work in the fields of psychology, counseling, social work, education, pediatrics, nursing, home visiting, early intervention, early care and education, child protection, and other allied health fields, focusing on the relationship between infants, young children and their families. Class meetings on Saturdays and on-line to accommodate professional schedules and travel!
|
|
|
The 10-month Intensive runs from October 2019 through July 2020 with two learning sessions per month - one Saturday per month* at Montclair State University, and one Wednesday per month through a virtual on-line platform. Fellows will also be provided readings to complete in advance of each session.
* The first weekend meets on both Saturday and Sunday

|
110 hours of instruction
Continuing education units (CEU’s) for Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and New Jersey teachers may be provided. Arrangements can be made for Fellows who would like graduate course credit.

|
Fellows will learn advanced topics in infancy and early childhood development, emotional and relational health, assessment and intervention strategies, and systems working to support infants, children, and families in the first eight years of life, meeting all competencies in Theoretical Foundations, Law, Regulation & Policy, and Systems Expertise towards the New Jersey Association for Infant Mental Health Competency and Endorsement System

24 hours of Reflective Supervision/Consultation!
|
|
Participation also provides at least 24 hours of Reflective Consultation by the Principal Faculty, Dr. Gerard Costa and Dr. Kaitlin Mulcahy, both NJ-AIMH Endorsed Infant Mental Health Clinical Mentors (IMHM-C).

Cost for the 10-month Intensive Fellowship is $3000, payable in 10 equal installments due on the 1st of each month. A deposit of $300 is due upon acceptance and will be counted towards the final payment. Cash, check or credit accepted.

Attendance at a mandatory group interview through the Zoom online platform (see below) is required for application. At this interview, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions and gain more information about the program.
|
