Prepping for Finals

Finals and Student Accommodation Support

Do you have students who need support with finals accommodations? Learn more about administering accommodations on the Student Disability Services (SDS) website.

You can also learn more about incorporating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and accessibility into your upcoming assignments by booking an appointment with Ellen Hogan, OTL’s Faculty Developer of Instructional Accessibility.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Resources and Support

Turnitin has detection capabilities for AI writing, including writing that comes from AI tools such as ChatGPT. Keep in mind that this technology is not perfect, and it is still important that you review these reports carefully and communicate thoughtfully with your students. Learn more about Turnitin and its AI detection capabilities in our blog post Checking the Checkers: Guidance for Using Turnitin (Including its Artificial Intelligence Detection Tool), and review our webpage Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Classroom for many more resources.

Join us for a workshop to explore ideas for how to use AI to support your grading and feedback process as well as navigating misconduct in your courses:

Already Using Digication? Join us to Learn About Digication Kora!

Digication will soon upgrade to the new Digication Kora! Digication Kora includes enhancements to how Digication integrates with Canvas. To learn more, join Kellie Ferguson (Faculty Developer of Integrative and Experiential Learning) and Aparna Vaidyanathan (Business Analyst II) for a webinar where they will explain the differences and demo some of the new features included in Digication Kora. Participants will also have the opportunity for some hands-on experience with the new features.

Designing for Significant Learning

Join us for a 90-minute, interactive workshop, that will introduce you to the concept of designing for significant learning – that is, learning that has the potential to change students’ lives in lasting and important ways. You’ll also become familiar with two tools/frameworks – the Taxonomy of Significant Learning and the Three-Column Alignment Table - that can support you in this design work, and have the opportunity to practice applying these tools/frameworks in thinking about the design of your own courses.
