Team,
Vice President Glen Nelson announced that he has accepted a new position and will be departing Idaho State University on June 18. In light of budgetary challenges, external pressure to reduce expenditures on administration, and to leverage existing talent, the Division of Finance and Business Affairs will be restructured. Jen Steele will assume the role of Senior Associate Vice President for Finance, and Dani Dunstan will assume the role of Vice President for Operations.
This restructuring will yield savings to the University in an amount close to $200,000, which is almost half of Idaho State’s FY22 budgetary reduction from the Legislature this year. It will contribute to long-term budget balancing efforts in a manner that does not impact our educational mission or student services. Additionally, this move will leverage some of the exceptional leadership talent we already have at our University. I am confident that this transition will allow us to continue to serve our students, further our strategic priorities, and best support those of you who work within these units.
The new reporting structure will take effect on Monday, June 21. An overview of the changes is included below. Jen and Dani will be working closely with Finance and Business Affairs teams to ensure a smooth transition. If you have any immediate questions related to how these changes will impact your work, please discuss them with your supervisor.
